Terms of Service
Good Point Travel · Effective July 27, 2026 · Last updated July 27, 2026
Please read these Terms carefully. By using goodpointtravel.com, submitting an inquiry, or engaging Good Point Travel for advisory or booking services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Good Point Travel ("Good Point Travel," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent travel advisory business operated by Good Point Travel, LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company. We specialize in maximizing the value of airline, hotel, and credit card loyalty points, and we also arrange flights, hotels, cruises, activities, and ground transportation for cash.
We operate under Fora Travel, Inc. as our host agency and agency of record. Fora holds the accreditation and supplier relationships through which bookings are made. Fora Travel, Inc. is registered as a Seller of Travel as follows:
- California – Seller of Travel Registration No. 2151995-50
- Florida – Seller of Travel Registration No. ST43973
- Washington – Seller of Travel Unified Business ID (UBI) #605329242
- British Columbia – CPBC License No. 88694
- Ontario – TICO Registration No. 50027942
California registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California.
2. Our role: we act as an agent, not as a principal
This is the most important section of these Terms.
Good Point Travel acts solely as an intermediary and agent for the airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, transfer companies, activity providers, insurers, and other suppliers whose services we arrange. We do not own, operate, control, or supervise any of them.
We are not responsible or liable for:
- Any act, omission, error, negligence, misrepresentation, breach of contract, or willful misconduct of any supplier
- Any failure of a supplier to deliver services, including as a result of bankruptcy, insolvency, cessation of operations, strike, or overbooking
- Personal injury, illness, death, property damage, loss, delay, or inconvenience arising from supplier services
- Changes to schedules, itineraries, equipment, ships, aircraft, rooms, or routes
- Acts of God, weather, natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic, civil unrest, terrorism, war, government action, border closure, airspace closure, or any other event beyond our reasonable control
Your legal recourse for any supplier failure is against that supplier. Each supplier has its own terms and conditions, which form a direct contract between you and that supplier. You are responsible for reading them. We will provide them or tell you where to find them on request.
3. Points and award bookings – specific terms
Our award redemption services carry risks that ordinary cash bookings do not. By engaging us for points-related services, you acknowledge and accept the following.
3.1 We advise; you execute
We research and recommend award redemption strategies, identify availability, and provide step-by-step booking instructions. You execute the transfer and the booking yourself, in your own accounts. We do not access, log into, or transact in your loyalty accounts, and we will never ask for your account passwords. Do not send them to us.
3.2 We are independent of every loyalty program
We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or an agent of any airline, hotel group, cruise line, credit card issuer, or loyalty program. Program names and marks are used for identification only.
3.3 Award availability is volatile and outside our control
Award space is controlled entirely by the operating program and can be withdrawn, repriced, or sold out at any moment – including between the time we identify it and the time you attempt to book it. We do not guarantee that any award seat, room, or cabin will be available when you go to book it, or that it will be available at the price or mileage rate quoted.
3.4 Point transfers are generally irreversible
Transfers from credit card programs and between loyalty programs are, with very few exceptions, permanent and non-reversible. Points transferred out cannot be transferred back or refunded.
Do not transfer points until you have confirmed that the award space you want is actually bookable.
We will tell you when we believe it is safe to transfer, but the decision to transfer is yours alone, and you accept the full risk of that decision. We are not liable for points transferred that cannot subsequently be used as intended, including because availability disappeared, transfer times were longer than expected, or a program changed its rules.
Transfer times vary from instant to several days and are set by the programs, not by us.
3.5 Programs can change or devalue at any time
Loyalty programs may change award charts, increase mileage requirements, add or increase surcharges, modify transfer ratios, terminate transfer partnerships, expire points, or discontinue programs entirely – often without advance notice and sometimes retroactively. We are not responsible for any loss of value resulting from such changes. Any points valuation, cents-per-point figure, or "value received" estimate we provide is an illustration, not a guarantee, and points have no cash value.
3.6 Compliance with program terms is your responsibility
Your loyalty accounts are governed by agreements between you and the program operator. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any redemption complies with those terms, including rules on who may be a beneficiary of an award ticket, household account pooling, points pooling, and third-party assistance.
Programs may audit accounts and, at their discretion, cancel awards, confiscate points, close accounts, or refuse boarding for suspected violations. We are not responsible for any such action, and we do not indemnify you against it. If you are unsure whether a redemption is permitted, check with the program before proceeding.
3.7 We do not broker miles
We do not buy, sell, rent, broker, or transfer miles or points, and we do not arrange redemptions using anyone else's account. We will not advise on or assist with mileage brokering, account sharing for compensation, or manufactured spending schemes.
3.8 Taxes, fees, and surcharges
Award bookings almost always carry taxes, government fees, and – on many carriers – fuel or carrier-imposed surcharges. These are payable in cash by you and are quoted separately. They can change between quote and ticketing.
3.9 Award change and cancellation rules
Award tickets and award hotel stays have their own change, cancellation, and redeposit rules, which are frequently more restrictive than cash bookings and often carry per-passenger fees. Redeposited points may be returned on a delay, at a reduced amount, or not at all. Partner awards may not be changeable online at all.
3.10 Credit cards
Any discussion of credit cards, sign-up bonuses, or spending strategies is general information about points earning, not financial, credit, or tax advice. We are not a financial advisor, credit counselor, or broker. Applying for credit cards is your decision, may affect your credit, and may have tax consequences. Consider consulting a qualified professional.
We may receive compensation if you apply for a card through a referral or affiliate link on our site or in our communications. This never changes which cards we recommend.
4. Our fees
4.1 What we charge
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Award booking / points redemption research – flights | $39–$179 per traveler, depending on complexity. The specific fee is confirmed at consult, before research begins. |
| Award booking / points redemption research – hotels | $99 per stay |
| Trip planning and itinerary design | $99 per trip |
| Cash bookings for hotels, cruises, and activities | Typically no fee – we are compensated by supplier commission |
All fees are quoted and agreed in writing before work begins. We do not charge fees you have not agreed to.
4.2 Refund policy
If we are unable to deliver a booking that meets the parameters you and we agreed to in writing, we will refund your fee in full.
Your fee is not refundable where:
- We identified and presented options meeting the agreed parameters and you declined them, changed your mind, or changed your trip
- Availability was lost because of your delay in acting on our recommendation, or because you did not transfer points when advised to
- The booking was completed and later cancelled, changed, or disrupted by you or by a supplier
- Your loyalty program cancelled, clawed back, or devalued the award after booking
- The information you gave us was inaccurate or incomplete
If parameters are unclear, we will confirm them in writing before starting so that both sides know what "delivered" means.
4.3 Commissions
For cash bookings, we and Fora may receive commissions from suppliers. These are paid by the supplier, not added to your price. We may recommend suppliers with whom we or Fora have preferred relationships offering client benefits such as upgrades, resort credits, or breakfast. We do not recommend suppliers solely on the basis of commission, but you should know that this compensation exists.
5. Payment for travel
Except for our own fees, you pay suppliers directly by credit card, or through a secure payment link provided by the supplier or by Fora. We do not hold client funds in trust and we are not a party to your payment to a supplier.
We strongly recommend paying with a credit card in the traveler's own name, which preserves your chargeback rights and any travel protections your card provides.
Deposits, final payment deadlines, and cancellation penalties are set by each supplier. Missing a supplier deadline can cancel your booking and forfeit your deposit. We will remind you of deadlines as a courtesy, but you are ultimately responsible for meeting them.
6. Your responsibilities
Accuracy of information. You must give us each traveler's full legal name exactly as it appears on the passport or government ID to be used for travel, along with correct dates of birth and document details. Airlines charge for name corrections and often refuse them entirely on award tickets. We are not responsible for costs, denied boarding, or lost bookings resulting from inaccurate information you provided, and correction fees are your responsibility.
Review your confirmations. Check every confirmation, itinerary, and ticket immediately upon receipt and tell us of any error within 24 hours. Errors reported later may be impossible or expensive to fix.
Travel documents. You are solely responsible for obtaining and holding valid passports, visas, transit visas, electronic travel authorizations (ESTA, ETA, ETIAS, and similar), and any required health documentation. Many countries require at least six months of passport validity beyond your return date and blank visa pages. Requirements depend on your citizenship, residency, itinerary, and connection points, and they change frequently. Any information we provide on entry requirements is a courtesy and not authoritative – verify with the relevant embassy, consulate, or official government source. Denied boarding or entry for lack of proper documentation is not refundable, and we are not liable for it.
Health and fitness. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness to travel and for any vaccinations, medications, or medical clearances required or recommended. Consult a physician or travel medicine clinic. Tell us in advance about mobility, accessibility, dietary, or medical needs so we can communicate them to suppliers – though we cannot guarantee that suppliers will accommodate them.
Airport and check-in timing. Arrive at airports, ports, and departure points with adequate time. Missed departures are your responsibility.
7. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical care abroad, emergency medical evacuation, and baggage. Standard health insurance frequently does not cover treatment overseas, and medical evacuation can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Many benefits, including "cancel for any reason" coverage and pre-existing condition waivers, are only available if you purchase within a short window after your initial trip deposit.
Note that award tickets are generally not insurable for their points value. Trip cancellation insurance reimburses cash outlay, not miles.
If you decline coverage, you accept full financial responsibility for any loss that insurance would have covered.
8. Changes, cancellations, and disruptions
Changes and cancellations are governed by each supplier's rules. Supplier penalties are in addition to any fee we charge for handling a change.
If your travel is disrupted while you are away, we will make reasonable efforts to assist, but we cannot guarantee availability outside normal business hours and we are not responsible for rebooking costs. In an in-progress disruption, the operating airline or supplier is the fastest route to a solution.
9. Pricing and errors
Prices, availability, mileage rates, taxes, and surcharges are not guaranteed until a booking is ticketed or confirmed. Quotes may expire. We are not liable for typographical errors, pricing errors, or errors in information provided to us by suppliers or third-party tools, and we reserve the right to correct any error in a quote.
Currency conversion rates fluctuate; foreign-currency charges may differ from quoted amounts and may incur foreign transaction fees from your card issuer.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to our services is limited to the amount of fees you actually paid to Good Point Travel for the trip in question.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost points or miles, lost elite status, lost profits, lost enjoyment, or the cost of substitute travel arrangements, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our services are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Good Point Travel and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any loyalty program's terms, your violation of any law, or inaccurate information you provided to us.

Reply STOP to opt out of text messages. Trip-related and transactional communications are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while you have an active booking with us.
14. Dispute resolution and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Time limit. Any claim must be brought within one year after the cause of action arises, or it is permanently barred, to the extent this limitation is permitted by law.
15. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any written proposal, fee agreement, or engagement letter between us, constitute the entire agreement. Where a signed fee agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
Changes. We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version with a new effective date. The version in effect when you engage us governs that engagement.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
